Description

An introduction to the basic principles of physics that applies knowledge from Physics 130 to practical applications and problems. The course includes laboratory experiments and teaches officer cadets the scientific approach to problem solving. Topics covered in this course include:

  • heat
  • dry friction
  • principle of work and energy

Officer cadets will also develop competency in analyzing and explaining:

  • quantity of heat
  • centres of gravity
  • frames and machines
  • temperature and expansion
  • statics and equilibrium of rigid bodies
  • pulley systems and mechanical advantage
