Student jobs with the Canadian Coast Guard

We hire students from the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP), a Government of Canada inventory of students seeking jobs. We also hire through co-operative education and internship programs provided by academic institutions.

Federal Student Work Experience Program

Federal organizations mainly recruit students through this program. It gives you the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on work experience while developing skills for your future career.

We use the FSWEP inventory year-round. Students can work full-time during a non-academic term (often during the summer), or part-time during an academic term. Tasks can range from creating marketing promotional materials to conducting research.

Canadian Coast Guard-specific job opportunities through FSWEP are available with the Inshore Rescue Boat Service.

Co-op program

We work with academic institutions to provide co-op programs that help you fulfill the requirements of your course. We recruit the best students to work on everything from financial analysis to green engineering practices.

For more information on how to access co-op opportunities, contact your academic institution.
