Operational Update

The consolidation of the Marine Rescue Sub-Centre St. John’s into the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Halifax is effective 25 April 2012. For members of the public the phone numbers they must call in case of a marine emergency remain the same.

The Canadian search and rescue system is jointly operated by the Department of National Defence, the Canadian Coast Guard and the network of government and civilian organizations, and volunteers.
