Note:

Responsibilities concerning the development of policy and the implementation, enforcement and administration of the Aids to Navigation Protection Regulations (repeal date: July 1, 2007,this regulation now forms part of the Canada Shipping Act, 2001), Private Buoy Regulations (PBR), the Navigable Waters Protection Act (NWPA) and Boating Restriction Regulations have been transferred from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Canadian Coast Guard to Transport Canada.

Therefore, it is to be understood that all references to the above noted legislations and/or regulations contained in these publications are now under the responsibility of Transport Canada and all enquiries concerning these acts and regulations must be directed to questions@tc.gc.ca .

The Canadian Coast Guard, Aids to Navigation program will ensure this change in responsibility is reflected when future updates are made to each of its publications.
