The National Response Team is comprised of Canadian Coast Guard Environmental Response personnel located throughout Canada who are knowledgeable and trained to monitor, manage or assist in responses to incidents at the Regional, National or International level.
The Canadian Coast Guard recognizes that the rapid cascading of equipment and personnel for domestic and international incidents, pollution or otherwise, is critical to the protection of the marine environment and in the case of national emergencies, the safety and well being of Canadians.

The National Response Team concept of operations provides the framework for a coordinated national response to a marine pollution incident or natural or manmade disaster through the cascading of human and material resources from all Canadian Coast Guard regions. This concept applies when the Canadian Coast Guard serves as the On Scene Commander, Federal Monitoring Officer or resource agency to another Government department.
