May 6, 2012 – Burnaby Association of Marine Modellers (BAMM)
A kiosk and a display of CCG vessels will be in place to raise awareness about the Canadian Coast Guard and its 50th Anniversary.

A joint-multi-agency exercise involving Canada and United-States scheduled to be played out in the Sydney harbour and surrounding area.

The College will be hosting an open house promoting the 50th Anniversary of the Canadian Coast Guard.

May 15, 2012 – 50th Anniversary Photo Exhibit
This exhibition will highlight some of the iconic images, themes and important events associated with the Canadian Coast Guard. Will be displayed from May to October 2012.

May 21, 2012 – A Float for Victoria Day Parade
A float for the Canadian Coast Guard in honour of its 50th Anniversary will participate in the Victoria Day Parade this year.

May 29, 2012 – CCG Day on the Hill
This event is to provide parliamentarians and stakeholders an opportunity to become more acquainted with CCG programs and services. There are three events associated with this day: a pinning ceremony for Members of Parliament, a demonstration of CCG equipment and, an evening reception for Parliamentarians and stakeholders focusing on services offered by the CCG.

Spring – Summer 2012 – CCG 50th Anniversary Flower Bed
Each year, the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission donates two prominent flower gardens off the A. Murray MacKay Bridge to charitable and non-profit organizations to help promote upcoming events and milestones. For 2012, one of the flower beds will feature the CCG 50th Anniversary Logo. The logo will be in place for the entire spring/summer and will be seen by an estimated 52,000 vehicles a day.

June 5, 2012 – The Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference
The Governor General's Canadian Leadership Conference brings together Canada's future leaders from business, labour, government, non-government organizations, education and the cultural sector for a unique two-week experience. As part of this exercise, they will tour the Canadian Coast Guard College.

June 8 – 10, 2012 – Rendez-vous Naval du Québec
This event will welcome vessels from Canadian and foreign fleets. Over 100,000 people will attend this event. The Canadian Coast Guard will be present with a few vessels to represent our organization’s activities.

June 2012 – Prince Rupert Seafest
Pacific Region will participate in the Seafest parade as well as activities at city’s waterfront. Information booth will also be on site throughout the weekend.

June 2012 – CCG Model Ship Display at Maritime Museum of the Atlantic
CCG exhibit at the Museum of the Atlantic will display some of the numerous model ships of the CCG fleet, past and present. A short history of some of the vessels and historic events will be displayed.

Open House Day at the following lifeboat stations in Maritimes: Saint John, NB; Shippagan, NB; Clark’s Harbour, NS; Louisbourg, NS; Port Bickerton, NS; Sambro, NS; Westport, NS; Souris, PEI; Summerside, PEI; and Canso, NS at the Canso Canal.

July 22, 2012 – Transat 2012
The Transat is a sail boat race between Québec and St-Malo from France. The Coast Guard will have the opportunity to have a kiosk on site to promote its services and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Coast Guard.

The CCG Auxiliary’s “Bobby the Boat” will be present for the children and all are welcomed to come down to the base and learn more about the Canadian Coast Guard.

CCG Pacific Region has been invited by the Vancouver Branch of the Mission to Seafarers to celebrate CCG’s 50th anniversary with a dinner for the guests. The Assistant Commissioner of Pacific Region will be a guest speaker at this event.
