How to apply

The Marine Electronic Development (MELDEV) training program recruits electronics technologists and trains them to work for the Canadian Coast Guard.

You’ll be trained at Marine Communication and Traffic Services centres and the Canadian Coast Guard College. After completing the 3-year program you’ll immediately hold a full-time position with the Coast Guard.

To apply to the program you must first participate in a selection process. You’ll need a:

• high school diploma
• post-secondary degree or diploma in electronics technology from an accredited university or college

We give priority to applicants from programs that focus on in-depth electronic equipment and systems:

• calibration
• installation
• modification
• maintenance

A combination of education, training and experience may also be acceptable.
