General Comments

The only manageable stop on the way to Cape Hurd for most small vessels is Stokes Bay, at the halfway mark. An offshore marker is shown on your charts. There is also a large day marker on Lyal Island and ranges to guide you in. A short dock is available at the government landing, but there are also anchorages here and there. Check your charts with care - and remember the low water!

By car, you will have turned off #21 to Hwy 6 to head north toward Wiarton and Tobermory. About halfway up, watch for a small sign directing you west to Stokes Bay. A neat drive; an interesting side trip, well worth the extra half hour it will take you.
