Rescue Coordination Center Simulator

The Canadian Coast Guard College uses a simulator to train future JRCC/MRSC (Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre/Marine Rescue Sub-centre) co-ordinators. There are four separate JRCC simulators with individual control centres. Each JRCC simulator is equipped with all the tools that the co-ordinator will need to respond to any search and rescue case, such as computerized planning software to calculate a search area, Search Mission Management software, a self contained telephone system with voice data logging, individual simulator video and audio monitoring for evaluation purposes, as well as fax capability and all communication systems that are used in a co-ordination centre. Each simulator is also connected to live COSPAS SARSAT data and world-wide data.
