Aside from the Canadian Coast Guard College's full time programs, the College also offers several training paths such as Search & Rescue, Environmental Response, and Marine Maintenance and Equipment Training (MMET) to those already employed within the Canadian Coast Guard, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and other Public Service departments.

The Marine Maintenance and Equipment Training department is the newest department to the Canadian Coast Guard College. In partnership with the Integrated Technical Services (ITS) Directorate, the mandate of the Marine Maintenance and Equipment Training (MMET) department is to provide technical training to DFO/Coast Guard field personnel. Their responsibility is to maintain and repair all DFO/Coast Guard assets used on Canadian Coast Guard ships and state of the art technical equipment used on shore to assist in the safe navigation of all vessels in our Canadian waters.
The MMET department has developed an inventory of courses to meet the varied demands of ITS personnel across the country. The department works in parallel with the three other departments at the College, which allows the MMET department to stay focused and up-to-date on the continuously evolving technology in The Canadian Coast Guard. The ability to stay current with new regulations and advances in technology ensures technical personnel are as current as possible in their specialized fields.
The MMET department has various training labs equipped with real systems to support the training. Courses are designed as part theory and part practical. Emphasis is placed on troubleshooting techniques and focused on the practical exercises with the electronic equipment where participants can apply the theory learned in the classroom.
