Prerequisites
An applicant’s complete academic record, including secondary school as well as all post-secondary studies (for example, college, university, or other post-secondary institutions) will be reviewed and considered as part of the competitive selection process. Successful completion by June 30, of each academic year, of all academic prerequisites.
Your previous/current program of study must have included the following pre-requisites:
- CEGEP 1 in Québec (preferably in Nature Science program) (high school diploma and official final transcript must be provided); or
- Grade 12 in all other provinces and territories – at a pre-university level suitable for a degree in Science, Engineering or most technologies.
* For any diploma abroad, you must provide the Canadian academic credentials equivalencies.
* For any subject taken in the current year of the application, an official registration or first term transcript must be provided by December 31 of the current year. All courses must be successfully completed by June 30, of each academic year.
* Advanced courses at College or University level are accepted as upgrades to the courses in high school.
* Please note that the Canadian Coast Guard College reserves the right to be the final arbiter of what it will accept on an equivalency basis.

Two CEGEP courses are required for each prerequisite subject if prerequisite subjects have not been met in Secondary IV and /or V.
