APPLICATION FOR REDUCTION OF MARINE NAVIGATION SERVICES FEE FOR PRECISION NAVIGATION SYSTEM

MASTER’S / OWNER’S / OPERATOR’S DECLARATION OF ON BOARD INSTALLATION AND USE

This is to certify that I have been provided with a copy of Annex I of the “Fees to be Paid for Marine Navigation Services Provided by the Canadian Coast Guard” effective October 1st, 1998, pertaining to “Precision Navigation Systems” (PNS) and made aware, by the Canadian agent of the owner/operator of the vessel for which I am responsible, that the vessel may qualify for a 5% (five percent) reduction in the Marine Navigation Services Fee payable on tonnage loaded and/or unloaded providing that the operational precision navigation system installed on board meets the Coast Guard’s “Interim Standards” for PNS Systems.

I certify that the (vessel name) ___________, Lloyd’s Number __________, calling the port of __________on (date) __________ (mm / dd / yyyy) has, presently installed on board, an operational precision navigation system, as defined in s.1 of the Government of Canada’s “Fees to be Paid for Marine Navigation Services Provided by the Canadian Coast Guard” pursuant to section 47 of Canada’s Oceans Act described in detail in Annex I of the aforementioned Fee Schedule.

I understand that, as a result of my declaration and completion of the “Checklist of Required Features” for a PNS system contained in Annex I of the MNSF Fee Schedule, the aforementioned vessel MAY receive a 5% (five percent) reduction in the Marine Navigation Services Fee payable upon review of all supporting PNS documentation by Coast Guard to ensure that the system meets the “Interim Standard” outlined in Annex I. This declaration and the completed checklist have been provided to the agent of record for submission with corresponding invoices to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans have been sent directly to :

Note:

This Certification shall accompany the completed “Checklist of Required Features” for a PNS System to determine if a ship is eligible for the 5% (five percent) reduction in the Marine Navigation Services Fee.

This form is to be submitted only once, with all other supporting documentation, for any vessel calling a Canadian port after November 1, 1999.

After November 1, 1999, the Master/Owner/Operator’s Declaration cannot be used by collecting agents as a basis for immediately applying the 5% (five percent) PNS reduction to a vessel.
