FSWEP

The Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) is the primary vehicle through which federal organizations recruit students.  FSWEP provides you with opportunities to learn about the federal government and gain valuable experience while developing your skills and improving your abilities for your future career.

The CCG accesses the FSWEP inventory year round. As a student, you can work full-time during a non-academic term (e.g., summer), or part-time during an academic term.

The Canadian Coast Guard promotes the development of professionalism through working-world experience. Tasks depend on organizational need, and range from the creative (such as creating and marketing promotional materials) to the analytical (examining fuel costs and research).

Offshore employment opportunities are also available through the In-Shore Rescue Boat (IRB) Service

A position as a student offers you competitive wages. Wages start at $11.55/hour, and with experience, they can go up to more than $19.33/hour.

« While motivating myself to do school work can be nearly impossible sometimes, I very rarely find myself with that problem here. I know that the effort I put into the exciting tasks I’ve been assigned will be of benefit to a public service that helps save lives! »
