As part of the Major Crown Projects (MCP) team, you will work to support the design and construction of various vessels for the Canadian Coast Guard's fleet renewal program. This is an exciting time for Engineers with the Canadian Coast Guard as the need for planning and constructions of new vessels over the next thirty years has been identified. Your responsibilities will include validating the operational needs of vessels, preparing initial concepts and designing marine systems on hull, mechanical, electrical, communications, navigation or integrated logistical support. You may also be responsible for conducting detailed investigations as well as developing and evaluating assigned components of vessel construction projects. A position with MCP offers you great opportunities to travel frequently to shipyards and design offices to provide professional expertise on design and construction. You may also have the opportunity to travel overseas. |

Integrated Technical Service (ITS) Engineer |

Personnel employed within the Integrated Technical Services Directorate work on the development and construction of new small Canadian Coast Guard vessels and are responsible for the life-cycle management of existing vessels and marine and shore-based assets, such as communications towers, bases, CCG stations, etc. As an Engineer with the organization, your work will consist of designing and delivering marine systems through hull, mechanical, electrical, electronic communications and navigation, or other integrated logistic support. Engineers are responsible for ensuring that the Canadian Coast Guard fleet is supported efficiently and effectively as well as ensuring that the land-based assets such as towers and other structures, telecommunications, navigation and computer systems are well designed and supported. The positions include a mix of office and field work. Our Engineers travel to work sites to inspect construction and installation projects and perform quality assurance of our vessels and sites. The positions are based in each of the five Canadian Coast Guard regions, as well as National Headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario. The Engineers work a 37.5 hour week from Monday to Friday. An Engineer position within MCP or ITS offers you a competitive salary and benefits. Salary starts at $52,000, and goes up to $113,000 at the highest level. |

Pre-requisites for the above duties:
To apply you need a degree from a recognized university in naval architecture, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas reviewed under Canadian education standards.
Recent experience in marine engineering, mechanical systems engineering, electrical power systems engineering, or naval architecture is required for this position.
