Integrated Technical Services (ITS) is responsible for maintaining the Canadian Coast Guard's (CCG) complex and varied physical assets. As the technical authority, ITS functions to ensure that CCG's assets are capable, reliable and available to deliver CCG and Fisheries and Oceans Canada's programs to Canadians.

ITS personnel in Newfoundland Labrador is comprised of tradespeople, technicians, technologists, engineers, managers and support staff who work collectively with the other CCG regions and headquarters to deliver the CCG Technical Program.
ITS delivers the CCG Technical Program using a life cycle management approach whereby assets are managed through the four phases of their life cycle - conception, acquisition, in-service and disposal. This includes developing and implementing operational plans, processes and procedures for the delivery of engineering, technical and logistics services in support of program delivery and capital investments.
Integrated Technical Services consists of four functional areas - Electronics and Informatics, Marine Engineering, Marine and Civil Infrastructure, and Technical Management Services.
Electronics and Informatics Services (EIS) is responsible for the total life cycle management of all CCG electronic systems and equipment, and for the provision of engineering services related to the design, procurement and installation of electronic and operational informatics systems, telecommunication and network systems. It provides technical advice to CCG partners and clients and to national headquarters. EIS is also responsible for the in-service maintenance support of all CCG electronic systems and equipment.
Marine Engineering (ME) is responsible for the provision of engineering services related to the design, procurement, installation and maintenance of all shipboard systems, equipment and structural items. This includes propulsion machinery, controls, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, ship's outfit, and ship structure. It provides engineering and technical advice on vessel refit, and maintenance for the region's fleet of 16 vessels and 75 small boats. Marine Engineering is also responsible for the in-service segment of the life cycle management of all CCG vessels assigned to the Newfoundland and Labrador Region and is international safety management (ISM) compliant.
Marine and Civil Infrastructure (MCI) is responsible for the provision of engineering services related to the design, procurement and installation of communications and navigation towers, shore lights, CCG equipment at lightstations and lifeboat stations, floating aids to navigation, helicopter refueling stations, and associated infrastructure such as buildings, roads, fuel systems and utilities. In support of these functions and related maintenance, MCI offers technical and shop services including electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, welding, yard/dockside maintenance, and equipment operation. In addition, MCI provides co-ordination of remediation of Coast Guard's environmental issues; advice to all Coast Guard sections on issues of environmental responsibility; and, drafting support for all sections of Coast Guard.
Technical Management Services (TMS) is responsible for the delivery of integrated logistics services and technical business and administration services. This includes such functions as Configuration and Technical Data Management; Supply Chain Management; Maintenance Engineering Management; Business Strategy (i.e. strategic planning and communications); Business Operations (i.e. human resources and finance); Health, Safety and Environmental Systems Management; and Maintenance Information Management.
